Who is this?

Hi, I'm Timewatcher/Ari (though I use aridai for coding stuff), a passionate writer and coder stuck in a hell-hole of a country!

What are your hobbies?

  • Cartoons (ex. The Owl House, Amphibia, Infinity Train, Inside Job)
  • Video games, mostly platformers (ex. Celeste, Sonic, Hollow Knight) but also games like Portal 2, Neon White, Deltarune or OneShot.
  • Writing (mostly short stories, sometimes poetry)
  • Game design (made a few under the aridai name, most unfinished)
  • Programming (webdev & gamedev mostly, but always interested in new stuff that isn't blockchain/corporate spyware)
  • Odd trivia & rabbit holes

Uhh... okay! Did you know 'helicopter' isn't derived from the words 'heli' and 'copter', but rather 'helico' (spiral) and 'pter' (wing)?

My Tumblr's on the main website, my YT and... 𝕏 ...doesn't see nearly as much use. If you just wanna yell something @ me, I'll find a way to give you that option soon, but for now, my askbox is open!

The main website is a desktop-like hub for all of my other stuff. Designed in an old-school style because I'm a sucker for webcore... The main attractions at the moment are:

  • about.html - this page!
  • Voidscreamer - the blog where I actually write stuff...
  • Rolls n' Trolls - a game I made for the GMTK 2022 Game Jam.
  • CLEANUP Classic - an older version of a project I'm working on (totally not there because Godot 4 doesn't work with my site).
  • My Tumblr - @the-timewatcher, mostly a reblog dump. Askbox is open, so long as y'all promise to keep it civil!
  • Juked (v.1.1) - a personal music player, still being worked on and updated with new songs!
  • Juked Lite - a smaller, lighter version of Juked, for low-end devices and moments when the main app straight-up breaks.
  • TORN NOTEBOOK - my blog dedicated solely to UNDERTALE and deltarune, currently on hiatus.
  • Saturn - a dinky little webring directory and a spaceport out into the weird and wonderful expanse of Cyberspace.
  • PaintTop - a centre for the unlockable wallpapers you can get for doing various things on here!
  • BabelEater - a tiny lil' creacher you can feed increasingly verbose lexical balderdash.
  • MY dinky TOOLBOX - an attempt at recreating and adding functionality to Tiny Tools, and a chance to show what tools I use!

Hold on, does this site use cookies to save info (in particular on BabelEater and the wallpapers)?

  • Technically speaking, no. It uses localStorage!
  • That being said, while this website does save information for later, it never shares accumulated information with third parties, nor do I even have access to it, making it perfectly compliant with EU law (on that particular front at least). It's all for your use and enjoyment, not to sell you useless junk!

Sick little loading animation! How do I watch it again? And who made the jingle?

The jingle was made by yours truly, and the animation only works on first visit for convenience's sake. Delete your cookies and refresh if you wanna see it again!
